Wind blades are composite structures in which the quality of bond lines and structural laminates defines the service life of the asset. Discontinuities such as missing adhesive, delaminations or dry areas are not always visible on the surface. That is why ultrasonic testing (UT) is the reference tool to assess the internal integrity of these regions.

Our team combines UT with internal and external visual inspection (VT), documenting every finding so that manufacturers, wind farm operators and maintenance teams can make data-driven decisions: release, monitor or repair.

We work across the entire blade life cycle: production quality control, site income inspection after transport and storage, and in the field with the turbine already installed (up-tower).

What kind of defects does ultrasonic testing find in wind blades?

UT assesses the internal integrity of the composite material, making it possible to identify discontinuities such as missing adhesive in bond lines, delaminations and other anomalies in structural laminates that visual inspection cannot reveal.

Can the inspection be done with the blade installed on the turbine?

Yes. We perform up-tower ultrasonic inspection with the blade mounted on the turbine, as well as inspections on the ground, in storage areas and at the factory.

Do you only inspect, or do you also analyze the results?

We deliver the full cycle: inspection, engineering analysis and technical report. We also audit field repair campaigns.
